-hardware is in most situations not changeable
-software is changeable
-firmware is rarely changeable
-ROM is read only memory which is an example of firmware
-BIOS is Basic Input-Output System used by firmware
-Motherboard has controllers from the hard disk, cd-rom and others
-Graphics card can be on the motherboard or in a separate spot made especially for it
-DVDs store up to 6x the amount of information than the CD
-Sound card is an audio device that uses input and output
-Peripherals are input and/or output devices that run externally such as the mouse, key board, gaming devices, microphones, scanners and webcams
In reference to Moore's law:
-Moore's law was invented by Gordon E Moore in 1965
-Moore's law illustrates how technological and social change grew and is growing exponentially in the 20th and 21st century.
-Moore's second law states "capital cost of the semiconductor fab also increases exponentially over time". Therefore computer companies are looking for new materials to manufacture the computers with.
